While Hopkinson mainly painted in and around his Manchester homestead, he was also able to travel a bit both in the United States and abroad. This rendition of the sloping hillside of Vermont’s Mt. Ascutney was captured from the grounds of Hopkinson’s son-in-law William A. Shurcliff’s family property located in Cornish, New Hampshire.
