Dines Carlsen excelled in the art of landscape and still life, and this example is a wonderful combination of these two subjects. Dines’ father, Soren Emil Carlsen, one of the most successful painters of his time, served as Dines’ first and only instructor. the pair exhibited together at the Grand Central Art Galleries in 1929, and posthumously in 1968.
