Working on black paper so that her pastel pigments truly pop, Liz Haywood-Sullivan captures sunsets that glow on the paper. Due to the nature of the black paper, she applies a different markmaking technique to create her paintings. Bold, graphic strokes describe the landscape and create a kinetic energy in the dusky clouds, reflected in the stream in the foreground.
