"I returned to this place several times, at different times of day to get the light just right. Most landscapes are best painted with either early morning or late afternoon light. But because of the dense woods this was more of a mid-day painting. There were so many compositions and focal points I could have used…I finally decided on this long horizontal with the light focused on one rock and plants. The light spots dancing over the water were a secondary focus and I was particularly pleased how they turned out."
