Marian P. Sloane (1876-1954)
Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Marian Sloane studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School, and later under artists Thomas Juglaris and Louis Kronberg. She became a member of the Guild of Boston Artists, the Copley Society and the North Shore and Rockport Art Associations. Sloane was also an art critic for the Boston Journal.

She exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and six times at the Corcoran biennials between 1926 and 1937. She won a medal and prize from the Currier Gallery of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire, and her work is included in the permanent collection of the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey.
