Grant summered in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where he exhibited works at the North Shore Art Association between 1934 and 1956. He developed an appreciation and understanding of life on the coast, recording the daily activities of the fishermen and villagers with his oils and watercolors. This lovely watercolor captures idyllic town life, the residents going about their daily business, a full produce stand outside the corner store, and the church bell tower watching over them.
