Exhibition: Perception & Innovation: Metamorphosis of the American Landscape
On exhibition July 15, 2024 - August 26, 2024
Countless art movements and new schools of thought have emerged as the definition of fine art has evolved over time. Before Abstract Expressionism rose to fame, the 1913 Armory Show introduced shocked Americans to Europe’s modern art scene. In the 1800s, Impressionism focused on the ephemerality of fleeting light, but it came about because the Barbizon painters split from their academic training to paint directly from nature. Artists are constantly innovating, developing new methods to respond to their changing world. This summer, Vose Galleries is pleased to present Perception & Innovation: Metamorphosis of the American Landscape, featuring a selection of landscape paintings from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries that reveal the breadth of American landscape painting. The exhibition will be viewable online and in the gallery July 15th through August 26th.
